Drew Barrymore in Grays

This is an acrylic painting done on illustration board featuring a close-up portrait of actress Drew Barrymore done for my 2-D Design class in 2010. The idea was to use only four values of gray to paint the whole portrait, modulating the colors instead of blending them together in gradients.

I'm a huge Drew fan, which is why I chose her as the subject of the portrait. This was a lot of fun to paint, and I may do a series of these featuring other celebrities.
