Artist's Comments
Part 2 of a four-part series I did for class entitled "My Name Is..." Done in Adobe Illustrator, it turns my name, Melvin, into a typographical play on the adjective or description of myself that follows it. This piece uses the phrase, "and I'm a cartoonist."
Here, the six main characters in my comic strip, "the Krew," get to show off some of their contortionist abilities and spell out my name for me. Unfortunately, one of them really needs to get with the program... It felt great, after almost 2 years of hiatus, to do something productive with these characters again. Here's hoping it's the start of a new push to bring them back around again. |
