A digitally airbrushed piece I created in Procreate Painter Classic on the Mac in 2004. I was getting pretty confident in the ol' program at this time, using a pad to create the entire thing. In hindsight I wish I'd thought about laying a ruler over the pad to help out drawing some of the straight lines. The saxophone is my instrument of choice, and the subject of the still life is my own real-life alto saxophone. I haven't played in quite a few years, and not really heavily since my high school days in concert, marching, and jazz bands. I used to be very good (several superior awards from solo and ensemble contests attest to this), and still have a powerful penchant for music, but age has rendered my horn temporarily a decoration only until I can get it repadded and made over. One day, one day...
What a pity that no one has ever commented on this wonderful piece! It is quite amazing, and I, playing the sax myself, must say I'm astounded. Good job. ^^
Thanks much for the fav! I've always loved the sax family, they've got a wondrous sound. I'm partial to the alto and baritone, but always wanted to get into tenor too.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.
